Being Aware

It has been said that "life is a journey" made up of many steps. We are always learning and growing. We are constantly faced with many challenges and we have a choice with each one. With each we can grow and become something new, or we can stay the same. Each time someone offends us, irritates us, ticks us off; we can let the situation defeat us and make us bitter, or we can use it as an opportunity to grow and be a better self. We learn to act instead of reacting. We learn to do something positive in the midst of negative. Yet sometimes it feels like we are stuck or moving in circles.

They key is to have an honest awareness about ourselves. It is when we can truly see how our own personal energies are affected by the energies of others and how our energies affect others that we truly become aware of ourselves. If we can become aware of why we do what we do, we then have no excuse to be stuck in the negative cycles. When we understand the roots of our behavior, we no longer are destined to sit clueless as to why things are the way they are. We can move beyond the old poor responses and make better choices. Awareness is the key to living our lives in a better life energy.

We have all made mistakes. We have made foolish decisions and responded inappropriately to situations. I know I certainly have. I'm trying to learn to be aware of why something happened and to set new boundaries so I don't fall so easily into those poor behaviors again, but respond with wisdom and maturity.

We live in a world where we know so much about so many things, but how much do we really know about ourselves? It is the knowledge of self that brings us to the place of self awareness and ultimately a self love that allows us to live with a great sense of harmony and respect in all things.

Respectfully,
